Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office of Energy & Ratepayer Advocacy | Massachusetts

Through a competitive bid process that took place in September of 2023, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office (MA AGO) of Energy & Ratepayer Advocacy selected GEEG as the consultant to help them review and provide comment on the 2025-2027 Mass Save statewide utility run energy efficiency portfolio. The plan as filed in April of 2024 is a $5 billion investment in energy efficiency and building decarbonization with a goal of achieving over 1 million tons of greenhouse gas emission reductions.

Through this work GEEG has been participating in working groups and conducting deep dive reviews on program design and ratepayer impacts to ensure that the robust statewide portfolio is spending ratepayer dollars responsibly. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring equity is appropriately addressed, ensuring program designs are streamlined, incentives are appropriately aligned, savings are properly allocated and calculated, performance incentives are appropriate, and rate designs are incorporated appropriately to ensure minimal customer bill impacts.
